More Details

More than simply reading with a child, our volunteers follow a proven, structured curriculum to help students learn specific skills necessary to become proficient readers. It’s simple, and it works. Each lesson comes with step-by-step instructions and materials. A trained site coordinator is always available to answer questions, assist with the materials, and solve problems.

Last year at George C. Clarke Elementary, we provided students with 1,640 one-on-one reading sessions with the help of our 67 reading volunteers. Of the 47 students we tutored, 92% met their primary literacy goals. We were able to send home 553 books for students to keep in their own personal home libraries, and 100% of teachers and administrators at the school reported that Reading Partners was valuable to their school.
